Introduction to Fastcase

Your Free Legal Research Tool

As a member of the State Bar of Texas, you have a powerful legal research platform available to you at no cost. It's called Fastcase, and it's a comprehensive law library that includes case law, statutes, regulations, and court rules. This benefit is part of a partnership designed to give you the tools you need without the high cost of traditional legal research services.

Fastcase and the State Bar of Texas are partnering to provide all active State Bar members free access to Fastcase’s vast collection of briefs, pleadings, motions, and orders powered by Docket Alarm within the Fastcase legal research platform.

This partnership means you can access primary law from all 50 states and the federal government. It's a robust alternative to more expensive platforms, and it's included with your bar membership.

Finding What You Need

Fastcase's search function is versatile. You can perform a simple keyword search, like you would in a standard search engine, or you can use more advanced search commands for precise results. Start by typing your search terms into the main search bar and selecting your desired jurisdiction, such as “Texas” or “5th Circuit.”
