Getting Started

Setting Up Your Account

Getting started with Rocketlane begins with a straightforward sign-up process. You’ll create a dedicated workspace for your company, which acts as your central hub for all projects. During this initial setup, you can personalize the workspace with your company's logo and brand colors. This ensures that when you invite clients to collaborate, they see a familiar and professional interface.

Once your workspace is ready, the next step is to invite your team members. You can assign different roles and permissions to control who has access to what information. This is crucial for keeping projects organized and secure. Think of it as giving everyone the right set of keys before you start building.

Navigating the Interface

After logging in, you'll land on the main dashboard. Rocketlane’s interface is designed to be clean and intuitive, so you can find what you need without getting lost. It’s organized into a few key areas.

The main sections you'll use are:

  • Global Navigation: The bar at the top of the screen holds universal tools like search, notifications, and your profile settings.
  • Main Sidebar: On the left, this is how you'll jump between different projects, access your templates, and manage people.
  • Workspace: This is the large central area where the action happens. It displays the details of the project or task you're currently viewing, including timelines, conversations, and files.

Key Features for Customer Projects

Rocketlane isn't just another project management tool. It's specifically built for customer-facing work, like onboarding or implementation projects. This focus means it has features designed to improve transparency and collaboration with your clients.

One of the standout features is the Customer Portal. This is a private, branded space where you can invite your clients. They can track progress, review documents, and communicate with your team, all in one place. It eliminates the need for endless email chains and scattered files.

Another powerful feature is the ability to use Project Templates. If you run similar types of projects repeatedly, you can create a template with all the necessary tasks, documents, and phases. When a new project kicks off, you simply apply the template and you’re ready to go, ensuring consistency and saving time.

Finally, Rocketlane helps you keep stakeholders informed without extra effort. Features like Automated Status Updates allow you to create and share progress reports automatically. This keeps clients in the loop and builds trust, while freeing up your team to focus on the actual work.
