What Is Instructional Design?

  • Implementation: This is the delivery phase. The course is launched, and learners engage with the material. This could be a live workshop, a self-paced online course, or a blended format.

  • Evaluation: This phase happens throughout the process and after implementation. The designer gathers data to determine if the learning experience was successful. Did learners meet the objectives? Were they engaged? What could be improved? The results of the evaluation often feed back into the analysis phase for the next version of the course.

Their role is to ensure that learning is not just possible, but planned for.
