Think about your social media profile. Right now, it exists solely on a company's servers. If that company decides to delete your account, your profile and connections are gone. In a decentralized system, your digital identity isn't tied to a single platform. You control it.
User Ownership: In Web3, you have true ownership of your digital assets and data. Your photos, your online identity, the items you earn in a game—they belong to you, just like physical property. You can move them between applications or sell them without asking for permission from a platform.
This shifts the power dynamic. Instead of being the product that platforms sell to advertisers, users are owners and participants.
Web3 introduces democratized digital realm ownership rights, giving users control over their data through fungible and non-fungible digital tokens managed via digital crypto wallets and private keys.
Trustless Interactions: This might sound strange, but "trustless" is a good thing here. It doesn't mean you can't trust anyone. It means you don't have to.
In Web2, we trust companies to handle our data, process our payments, and enforce the rules. Web3 replaces this need for trust in a middleman with trust in the code. Transactions and interactions are governed by transparent rules built into the network itself. This allows people to interact and exchange value directly and securely, without needing an intermediary to take a cut or approve the transaction.
