Aesthetics are the emotional responses the game evokes in the player. This isn't just about visuals; it's about the feeling. Does the game make you feel powerful, clever, curious, or challenged? The aesthetic goal for a puzzle game might be the satisfaction of solving a difficult problem, while a horror game aims for tension and fear.

A designer creates mechanics, which give rise to dynamics, which in turn evoke aesthetics. A player experiences the aesthetics, which come from the dynamics they create by using the game's mechanics.
