Both men and women look for a 'good-enough' partner in terms of genetic fitness, but place a much higher premium on qualities that ensure a stable and supportive environment for raising children. This strategic flexibility allows humans to adapt their social approach based on context, life stage, and personal goals.

The Social Ladder
