What is a Volcano?

At its simplest, a volcano isn't just a mountain; it's a doorway. A volcano is a rupture or opening in the that allows super-heated material from deep inside the planet to escape to the surface. When a volcano erupts, it doesn't just release melted rock. It also unleashes giant clouds of ash, rock fragments, and hot gases. It's essentially Earth's natural pressure-release valve!
