Ramsey personal finance

Welcome! I'm glad you're here to dive into Dave Ramsey's personal finance system, which has helped millions of people take control of their money, escape debt, and build lasting wealth.

Before we map out our game plan, I'd love to learn a little bit about where you are starting from so I can tailor everything perfectly for you.

To help me tailor this session, could you tell me a bit about your current familiarity with Dave Ramsey's principles, and what specifically brings you to want to learn about them right now?

I want a pacing guide to teach Ramsey classroom personal finance to juniors and seniors

It's wonderful to connect with a fellow educator! Juniors and seniors are at the perfect age for this because they're right on the cusp of making major financial decisions, like taking on student loans or buying their first cars.

Before we design the structure of your pacing guide, I'd love to know what kind of timeframe you're working with, and if you have the official student materials on hand.

I'm teaching a semester course with the official Ramsey curriculum.

That is absolutely perfect. A full semester gives you plenty of room to let these concepts sink in, and having the official Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum means you already have access to top-tier video lessons, activities, and student workbooks.

The Semester Roadmap

To make a semester course feel manageable and highly impactful, we want to structure the 12 chapters of the official curriculum into four logical, thematic units. This prevents students from feeling like they are just memorizing dry financial rules and instead helps them see the big-picture journey from chaos to control. Here is how we can map the semester timeline to keep your juniors and seniors engaged and moving at a steady pace:
ThemeCurriculum ChaptersSuggested Timeframe
Unit 1: Saving & BudgetingChapters 1-3Weeks 1-4
Unit 2: Credit & DebtChapters 4-6Weeks 5-8
Unit 3: Financial Planning & InsuranceChapters 7-9Weeks 9-12
Unit 4: Investing, Careers, & GivingChapters 10-12Weeks 13-16

This layout gives you about four weeks per unit, leaving you a couple of weeks at the end of the semester for review, a comprehensive final project, or buffer time for school assemblies and holidays.
