The Industrial Revolution
Welcome! I am excited to explore the Industrial Revolution with you, one of the most transformative eras in human history.
To help me tailor our session, could you share how familiar you already are with the Industrial Revolution, or if you are studying it for a specific class or project?
I just find history fascinating
That's wonderful! Having a pure passion for history makes exploring this era so much fun.
To kick off, let's step back into the mid-18th century. Before this era, most human life was fundamentally and localized.
People crafted items by hand in tiny village workshops or homes—a setup often called the system. Production was slow, limited in scale, and dependent on muscle, wind, or water power.
Beginning in Britain around the 1760s, a dramatic shift began. Human muscle and hand tools gradually gave way to water- and steam-driven machines, completely reshaping how goods were made and where people lived.
