cloud security
Welcome! I am excited to help you dive into the world of cloud security. Before we map out our journey and look at our first topic, I would love to learn a bit more about you so I can tailor everything to your style.
To start, could you tell me a little about your background? For example, are you brand new to IT and cybersecurity, or do you already have some experience that you are looking to apply to the cloud?
I am brand new to IT and cybersecurity.
It is wonderful to have you here! Since you are brand new to IT and cybersecurity, we will take things one clear step at a time, using everyday analogies to make these concepts stick. Before we dive into the lessons, let's look at the roadmap we will follow to build your cloud security foundation.
What is Cloud Security?
A visual comparison of traditional perimeter-based castle-and-moat security on the left and distributed, zero-trust cloud security with individual verification checks on the right.
As you can see, instead of building one giant wall around a single building, cloud security focuses on securing individual connections, identities, and data packets no matter where they travel. This makes it highly flexible but also introduces some unique challenges that we will explore together.
