What is Cloud Security?

To understand cloud security, we first need to look at how businesses used to handle their technology. Traditionally, companies ran their software and stored their data on physical computer servers located right inside their own offices. Securing that setup was like securing a physical bank: you put lockable doors on the server room, hired security guards, and set up a strong digital using firewalls to keep outsiders from slipping into your internal network. But today, companies are moving their digital assets to the "cloud"—which really just means renting space on massive, high-powered servers owned by companies like Amazon, Microsoft, or Google, and accessing them over the internet. Because your data and applications are no longer locked inside your own building, we can't rely on physical walls or a single entry gate anymore. is the entire collection of technologies, policies, and practices designed to protect this online data, the applications running on it, and the underlying infrastructure from being stolen, leaked, or disrupted.
