What is Human Genetics

At its heart, is the scientific study of how traits, features, and even susceptibility to certain diseases are passed down from one generation to the next through our biological code. It is the study of what makes us uniquely human, yet distinctly ourselves. To understand the cutting-edge genetic technologies making headlines today, we first have to look at the fundamental blueprint that tells our cells exactly how to grow, function, and maintain our bodies. Every single living thing relies on this cellular instruction manual. In humans, this entire collection of hereditary instructions is known as the , which serves as the complete biological recipe book for building and operating a human being.
