Getting Started Guide
A quick four-part walkthrough of Oboe — from finding your way around to sharing what you've learned. Each part has a short video; hit play to follow along.
Part 1
Navigating the UI
Get your bearings — here's how the app is laid out.
- The home screen is where every lesson begins: type what you want to learn, or pick one of the suggested topics.
- The left sidebar holds New Chat, your Skills, bookmarked lessons, and your full chat history.
- Inside a chat, the top bar shows the Sources Oboe used and a Share button; the … menu lets you rename, bookmark, download, or remove a chat.
- The Skills page tracks everything you've learned so far and levels up as you keep interacting.
Part 2
Starting a Chat
Kick off a lesson in three quick steps.
- In the “I want to learn…” box, type any topic — anything from “basics of negotiation” to “hand stitching to fix a button” — and hit send.
- Oboe asks a quick calibration question so it can pitch the lesson at the right level. Just answer honestly (e.g. “I'm a complete beginner, keep it super basic”).
- It builds you a step-by-step learning path using plain-language analogies to make the concept click.
- Keep going by tapping a suggested follow-up or typing your own question in the “Ask a question” box.
Part 3
Artifacts
Turn any lesson into something you can see, hear, or study from.
- Type / in the question box to pull up artifact commands — /diagram, /podcast, /song, /studyguide, /flashcards and more (or just ask, e.g. “make me a diagram”).
- A diagram renders inline as a clean visual — great for comparing ideas side by side.
- A podcast comes with a play button and a full transcript; a worksheet / study guide has a Printable and an Answers view.
- Every artifact opens in its own panel where you can play, download, print, or expand it.
Part 4
Sharing your Chat
Send a lesson to a teammate or friend in seconds.
- Open the chat you want to share and click the Share / Public button in the top-right corner.
- Switch the chat from Private to Public so anyone with the link can view it.
- Copy the link with one click, or share straight to Email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, X, Facebook or Instagram.
- Prefer to keep it offline? Use the download icon to save the chat, or the … menu to rename or bookmark it.
