Flipping the Perspective Probability asks: 'Given a fair coin, what is the chance of getting 10 heads?' Likelihood asks: 'Given that I just got 10 heads in a row, how plausible is it that this coin is fair?' In deep learning, we don't know the optimal weights of our network, but we do have our training data. Likelihood lets us evaluate our weights based on that data
