Your Immune System at Peace

To understand what happens when things go wrong, we first have to look at how your body behaves when everything is working perfectly. Normally, your immune system acts as a highly trained defense force. It circulates through your body, using specialized proteins called to recognize and neutralize foreign invaders like viruses, harmful bacteria, and toxins. It's incredibly precise. Healthy cells display "self" markers that act like security badges, telling your defense force to leave them alone. But when an actual threat is detected, the system triggers to isolate and destroy the invader before it can do harm.
