spanish
Welcome! I'm really excited to go on this language-learning journey with you.
To help me tailor our sessions, could you tell me a little about your experience with Spanish? Are you a total beginner, or do you already know a few words and phrases?
I know a few basic words and phrases.
That's great! Having a few words already in your toolbelt gives you a wonderful head start.
To help me tailor our session and focus on what matters most to you, what is your main motivation for learning Spanish?
Travel and vacations
Planning trips and vacations is such an exciting reason to learn Spanish! It makes traveling so much richer when you can order food, ask for directions, and chat with locals in their own language.
Continue to how widely Spanish is spoken globally
Spanish has grown far beyond its origins on the Iberian Peninsula to become a massive global language.
Knowing this means wherever your travels take you, you are bound to find friendly people to converse with.
Continue to cognates and building vocabulary
One of the best fast-tracks to building your Spanish vocabulary is using —words that look and sound almost identical in both English and Spanish because they share a common root.
For instance, exact matches like hotel, hospital, and actor mean the exact same thing in both languages. Other times, there's just a tiny tweak—like adding an -o or -a at the end, turning family into familia or secret into secreto.
