The Forward Deployed Mission

At its core, this role is about embedding directly with regional AWS Field Engineering teams. You won't just be writing code in a silo; you'll be sitting next to infrastructure engineers, datacenter operators, and managers during critical incidents and daily operations. Your mission is to find friction points in how AWS builds and runs its global infrastructure, and then rapidly design, prototype, and build agentic AI solutions to automate those workflows. You are bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI capability and real-world physical systems.
Before we dive into the technical architectures of RAG and agents on AWS, it's vital to understand the exact pillars the interviewers will use to evaluate you. They want to make sure you aren't just a "notebook engineer" who works on frozen CSV files, but someone who can deploy stable code in chaotic, real-world systems.
